Theory: Lordknight mirror match analysis
To understand how to win this mirror match, its easier to work backwards starting from our goal,Lordknightmon being alive and pulling digimons. LK decks dont have sudden burst, they win by the gradual advantage accumilated by removal + pulling digimon, thus its practically impossible to win without LK.
- Scenario 1: Both players have LK in breeding
The first LK move out and attack dies 100%, beacuse any inherit effect or pulled -DP digimon would give second LK higher DP
Conclusion: don't be the first one push out to attack with LK, unless you have a blocker
- Scenario 2: 1 player has LK
Obviously you would want to attack with LK and start building a board and wipe the enemy board, but this is all dependant on how much memory you give to your opponent on the turn and the state of their breeding.
Conclusion: Avoid giving 3 memory to the opponent, which allows the opp to evo LK and attack, killing your LK
- Scenario 3: Both players have LK but 1 opted to push onto board
Presumabley they pushed their LK out to free up breeding for draws, which means either they have a 2nd LK ready in breeding or they just made the game losing play. Likely to avoid getting their LK killed by an attack, they would juts leave it untapped.
The reach of -DP
Inherrit effects- 1000DP
Wargrowlmon- 4000DP
Slashangemon - 8000DP
Chaosmon VA - 14000DP
Starmons/Spiral Maquerade - usually 3 bodies
Knightmon - 4000DP
Asides from dying to Chaosmon:VA which is usually 2-3 copies. The most common way for a LK deck to remove bodies is LK atk -> pull knightmon, evo into slashagnemon or hard summon starsmon. Which is 10000DP~13000DP depending on if they have inherrit effects/number of bodies on field.
Meaning its actually very easy for a untapped & unbuffed LK to die.
While LK does get 1000DP for each other digimon on their side, please remeber LK loses the 1000DP when they die, meaning a weak board of lv3s might just all disapear in 1 turn dropping your LKs DP.
Conclusion: Unless you are baiting the enemy LK to attack, there is little reason to push LK out of the breeding zone.
- Scenario 4: Both players have LK on the board
See Scenario 3 on why that is a bad idea
- Scenario 5: Neither player has LK
Get LK as soon as possible and try to abuse the time frame of your opponent's inability to threat an LK and build a board.
Breaking the Stalemate -The importance of 3 mem tamer
The player with the secured 3 memory obviously has the better ability to go wide or set up multiple blockers, it also prevent the enemy from keeping you at below 3 mem to shut off the threat of evo LK attack. Ultimately the player without a tamer would be forced to make a push hoping their LK would stick.
Tech Choices
BT04-Wargreymon - Removes smaller bodies, remains untapped, forces your opponent to use multiple -DP tools to clear it and likely an LK attack, which frees up your own LK
BT02-Puppetmon - Takes advantage of the fact that LK decks has to atk to do anything, very hard to setup for a removal of 10000DP body without an LK pull. Puppetmon also can evo into Chaosmon:VA
